Here I go (again)
Revision of Middle Grade Novel. Day 120.
I spent the majority of last night tossing and turning and ruminating (yes, like a cow) about what can be done to save my poor middle grade novel. I wrote it five years ago (the first draft) and have all but ignored it since. Oh, it's been out and about ... but I haven't really tried to make it readable by anyone other than family. It's so easy to just put it down, or make excuses as to why I'm not working on it. NO MORE I tell you. No more. It's time to face the music. Gloves off.
I've attended workshops. I've learned. I read. A lot. I will have my MFA in July -- and getting this novel to a respectable level will play into my MFA -- so -- now is the time. I MUST REVISE this baby to a level where I am not embarrassed to send it out into the world by itself.
So, today I start again. I will get this book into shape. I will do it. I have no choice.
Unless of course I don't do it.
To be continued ...
